January 9, 2011: Resolutions Strong?
Excuse: I’m not good enough. I fail at everything I do. Nothing works for me. It’s been 9 days and I haven’t lost a pound.
Solution: Stay positive and keep your eyes on the prize. Do not lose momentum. The first few weeks of any program are going to be the most difficult. Did you put a picture of your ideal body on your fridge? How’s that food log coming along? What about workouts? Are you moving and shaking it at least 3 times per week? How about nighttime snacking? Remember: turn off the kitchen light and brush your teeth. Change your habits to good ones!
Don’t say: I will lose 50 pounds by Valentine’s Day. Because you won’t. And you shouldn’t. It’s not healthy. Aim for a pound or two per week. Some weeks you won’t lose any but over the course of 6 months or a year, you’re a new person! Book a short getaway to the beach every few months to stay motivated.
