Pizza…the healthy way. YUM!
Eating clean doesn’t always mean you can’t enjoy healthier versions of your favorite foods from time to time…my favorite treat is pizza. Most restaurants load on the cheese to the point that it drips in grease and I actually get sick. I’ve stopped this whole ordering pizza thing years ago and instead, make my own. I never eat pizza by itself. A mixed greens salad goes perfect with this recipe (just make sure you put your balsamic dressing on the side).
Skoog’s Perfect Pizza
1 Boboli Thin Crust Whole Wheat Pizza Crust, 12″
1 can organic tomato sauce
1/2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
pinch red pepper flakes
1 cup part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese
1 Tbsp shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 cup of your favorite vegetable toppings, such as:
-roasted bell peppers
-fresh roma tomatoes
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic, seasonings & spices. With a large spoon, spread the sauce evenly on crust, within 1/4 inch of crust edge. Sprinkle evenly with the cheese, top evenly with your choice of vegetables. Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until center is melted and edges are browned.
