I LOVE to cook. My husband and I would rather spend time together in the kitchen than dine out any day. With a kitchen always stocked with nutritious, organic and if possible, locally-sourced ingredients, we spend upwards of $175/week at Whole Foods.
So in March, when I paid a visit to Harlem Shambles, a CSA flyer caught my eye. Spending $700 for 5 months’ worth of weekly veggies, fruits and fresh eggs from local farms seemed like a steal. It took very little convincing to get Stanley to agree.
…and it has been so much fun. Every Monday feels like Christmas. Fresh, spring salads bursting with color. Veggie stir-fry with bok choy & sesame seeds. Radishes dipped in sea salt. Turnips? Toss ’em in with a pot roast! Rhubarb jam on toast. Fresh omlettes with scallions. Strawberries dipped in yogurt.
Can’t wait to see what’s coming next week!
