Back to Basics
Whether I’m working, sleeping or out to dinner, if my mom calls, I answer. Because you never know. Because even though I’m 36 years old, I’m still someone’s baby. Because I still seek my parents’ advice and approval and always will.
So when she called during a training session in Central Park, I excused myself and answered. Imagine my delight when she burst out excitedly, “Jenny! Your picture is on the front page of the local paper! There’s a really nice article about you!”
My world stopped. I nearly cried. My heart was thumping out of my chest.
No matter how successful my TV show Pushing It is, I’ve already achieved something really special. They haven’t seen the trailer for my show, nor will they be watching. But front-page status in the Enterprise Dispatch? My parents are bursting with pride…and that’s all I need for now.
